Heating FAQ
Answers to Common Questions
Why is my heater not producing heat?
A heater may stop producing warm air for one of several reasons. It's not possible to explain the entire process of diagnosing a heater. Call our team immediately to schedule a service appointment. One of our highly trained technicians will diagnose the problem and perform a repair.
Do I choose to install an electric or gas heater?
This question is open to interpretation. Gas is preferred by some people. Gas furnaces are more reliable and last longer. They're also a good choice for people who have a gas connection to the HVAC system. An electric heat pump is recommended for those who want to achieve the highest energy efficiency. Heat pumps are also great for those who are environmentally conscious, as they produce zero carbon emissions and burn no fossil fuels.
What is a Heat Pump?
Heat pumps work in the same way as an air conditioner but with the reverse process. Heat pumps take in ambient thermal energy from outside air and transport it inside, compressing it to make the temperature as high as possible. The furnace will then heat the air inside your home by pushing it over a warm coil that contains this thermal energy. In warmer climates such as ours, this process is extremely energy efficient.
How often should I schedule a tune-up?

Socially

If your heater hasn't been running for a while, a tune-up will be essential to ensure it runs reliably and efficiently. To ensure your heater is always ready for use, we recommend that you have it professionally maintained and tuned up by the middle of autumn. If the weather turns bad and your heater is needed sooner than usual, we recommend scheduling an appointment to have your system checked out.

My Heater isn't running. What can I do?
There are two common reasons your heater may stop working. These can be fixed by you without the need for professional help. First, make sure to check the battery of your thermostat. A majority of thermostats don't require a common wire (or "C"wire) to work. If your battery is dead, it will stop your heater turning. Second, check your air filter. Change your filter if it is dirty. Give your heater time to cool down before you turn it back on. Your system could have overheated because of a lack proper airflow. Call for service immediately if neither of these solutions work.
